The Nutrition North Canada (NNC) program, a federal initiative designed to make healthy food and essential products more affordable for you and your family and we are proud to be a part of this program. Living in remote Northern communities comes with high costs, especially for groceries, and we believe you deserve a better way to shop. Yes, we are not the only store partnering in this program but this is what makes us different

With other grocery stores, you might notice that even with the Nutrition North subsidy, your bill is still shockingly high. It’s like the subsidy gets lost in the shuffle, hidden in markups and extra costs. At Zamiigo, we do things differently because we believe your well-being comes first and we have you at heart.

We get our groceries directly from local retailers and apply the Nutrition North subsidy right on the shelf price. This means you pay the lowest possible price, often even less than you would at your local retail shops.

What Does the Program Subsidize?

The NNC program provides a subsidy on a wide range of nutritious and essential items. We’ve grouped these products into three subsidy levels -High, Medium, and Low—so you can easily see your savings as you shop.

High subsidy Items

These are the items with the biggest savings. They include fresh produce, like fruits and vegetables, as well as staples like milk, meat, and eggs. This level also covers essential items like diapers and baby formula.

Medium Subsidy Items

This group includes more of the healthy foods you rely on. You’ll find savings on items like bread, flour, and cereals, as well as cheese and yogurt.

Low Subsidy Items

Even with a lower subsidy, you still get savings on items that are part of your everyday life. This can include things like canned fruits and vegetables, crackers, and other non-perishable goods.
